Comics this word reminds me the wonderful childhood days and the superheros Dhruv,Nagraj and many more.I am sure 50% readers of this blog must be familiar with these characters.I had spent many times all my pocket money for these comics.At that time the comics were cost around Rs.15/- for a 30 page comics and Rs.30/- for a 50-60 page comics.But some cheaper options were also available like comics on rent for only one or two rupees..take the comics read it and return it after one day... :-).But getting comics on rent was also not easy... I remember when a series of Dhruv comics is published in two parts ..I got the first part on rent easily but the second part was not available..I always get late because of my school timings and reach the comic shop at 5 in evening but till that that time somebody else get it booked.So I convinced my mom to go to the comics shop early in the morning and book it for me... :).It was difficult to convince her but I managed and written the comic name on a paper and told mom to plz bring the correct comics...I don't want to leave any chance.. and finally I got the comics...:).. wow what a achievement that was.. :).
Comics helped me in my studies also--Getting comics on rent was good option but every one loves to have a huge collection of comics.But it was not possible from my pocket ... so I told my father to buy some comics for me but he refused ... I was very upset that day :(... but next day he came with a option that he will get one comics for me per subject if I get >= 75% (thank god he did not said 90% .. :p) marks in the subject.That means I can get 8 comics in a go if I score more then 75% in all the 8 subjects... :). I was not a top scorer of the class but always managed around 70 to 75 % and never failed in any subject.. So the task was difficult but not impossible ......I don't remember how I prepared for the exams but definitely for the comics I studied more... and got 7 comics... :) :).(I was in V standard ..:-)...
There are many more sweet incidents happened with me for comics.... but lets talk about the comics now...
Raj comics is the boss of all comics in India.Super commando Dhruv is my favorite next comes Nagraj coz Dhruv has no super powers but still he can fight with every one and Nagraj has got some snake powers... so Nagraj at no.2 :) ha ha...
neways.. the stories in this comics are very interesting...they occupy you completely and you cannot leave before you finish the story.Well the credit goes to the writer and creator of these comics. The stories are truly like some fantasy Hollywood movies..but they have logics...Dhruv comics always contain some information related to science ... he always fights with the things present in the location.. u ll not find any thing illogical in the comics... :).The combination of dialog and pictures in these comics is incredible every thing is explained in a small colorful page.
Writing these stories is not a easy job .... all credit to the writers and creators.
Other then Raj comics the other great Indian Comics Brand is Chacha Choudhary of diamond comics. "Chacha Choudhary ka dimag computer se bhi tej chalta hai". I hope you heard this famous quote... :)
Chacha Choudhary a man with very sharp brain and his friend Sabu ... "jupitar ka niwasi". They both rock together and can solve all problems.But Chacha Choudhary comics comics comes in some different format than Raj comics.In Chacha's comics you get around 10-12 stories in a single 30 page comic book but all are again good and logical stories .All credit to the writers and creators.Some other famous character of diamond comics are Pinki and Billu...:)
I don't remember when I purchased the last comics but today I do not see any kids having interest in these comics they don't know about it , all great Indian super heroes are vanished... :(.I don't even see any new comics in book stalls at bus and railway stations.So I searched for Raj comics in internet and found http://www.rajcomics.com. Thank god they are still publishing ... :). May be I am not aware and kids are still reading these comics :)
